Nursing Recruitment
Return to Acute Care
- Do you have a current, active nursing (NMC) pin?
- Do you have a desire to work in an acute hospital setting?
We run a unique and exciting Return to Acute Care Nursing Programme. This is an opportunity for Nurses with NMC registration, who have experience in acute care (either in the UK or abroad) who may be working in a community setting or nursing/residential home and want to return to acute care in a hospital environment to provide exceptional nursing care to elderly patients.
You will be based on one of our award-winning Dementia friendly wards as a Band 5 Staff Nurse and you will be supported by a dedicated mentor on the ward to bring you up to date with the latest changes and best practice in nursing.
About the programme
The Return to Acute Care Programme is an exciting opportunity for registered nurses currently working in non-hospital settings who wish to return to work in an acute environment.
- If you are committed, flexible and able to prioritise in a fast paced environment this could be the post for you
- You will also need to be able to undertake self-directed learning
- The programme will consist of theory and practice-based structured learning, supported by experienced mentors
- During this time you will be brought up to date with the latest changes and best practice to enable you to commence an exciting career with us
You will learn to:
- assess, implement, plan and evaluate care
- identify factors that indicate complications when caring for acutely ill patients
- make decisions when changes in treatment are required
- admit, transfer and discharge patients
- accurately administer medication
As you will be working on a busy elderly care ward you will need to have excellent prioritisation skills along with the flexibility to work within a ward rota which includes long days, early, late and night shifts covering seven days per week.
