The Care Team

You will be allocated one of our consultant cardiologists on admission to the unit, who will ultimately be responsible for your care. Your care will be delivered primarily by nurses.

Other specialists such as occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dieticians, social workers and diabetic nurse specialists will be involved in your care if appropriate.

Please feel free to ask your nurse to explain anything that you do not understand or is troubling you. As part of your ongoing care you may be transferred to other hospitals for more invasive investigations or treatments which we are unable to perform in this hospital. You may go directly from the coronary care unit or you may be transferred to a medical ward in the interim.
