When you start you will be paid in line with the nationally agreed pay circular. Your post may be subject to a pay protection period under the transitional arrangements schedule described in section 14 of the T&Cs 2016. We will need your pay information to determine any transitional pay or cash floor protection.

Please provide us with a copy your cash floor calculation.

The T&Cs for your post can be found here TCS Doctors and Dentists in Training 2016 Contract.

All other Doctors Trust Doctors/Clinical Fellows/Specialty Doctors and Consultant grades

You will commence on the base point of the scale unless you are able to provide evidence of experience which would justify additional points on the scale.

Experience outside of the NHS
If you wish for service outside of the NHS to be considered as equivalent experience on this pay scale, please provide confirmation of employment and a job description or other documentation outlining your duties and responsibilities from the relevant hospital(s) stating the dates of employment and your post level.

Consultant and Locum Consultant salaries
You may be eligible to start at a higher point on the salary scale if:

  • you have completed a dual qualification. This applies to posts that require the holder to possess two undergraduate degrees, as in maxillo facial surgery for example
  • Or if you have trained in a less than full time role where you needed to extend your CCT date

If you have please contact Medical HR as these may count towards your starting salary point.

Please return your most recent NHS payslip and any other pay information that you would like us to consider when assessing your starting salary when you complete your employment checks. This is to ensure that you start in post on the correct point of the pay scale. If this evidence is received after your start date, you will start on the base point of the scale and your updated pay will be reflected from the date you provided the evidence.
