EWTD and Rota Compliance
EWTD and Rota Compliance
The Trust has worked hard to achieve EWTD compliance for training doctors. Details of EWTD can be found within the Working Life Policy & Procedure. It is essential that you work within the parameters of your rota, including start and finish times and that breaks are taken as required by both EWTD and the 2016 Doctors in Training Contract.
It is imperative rotas remain legally compliant and therefore any voluntary swaps of shifts for any reason can only be done with the approval of your clinical lead and must not result in non-compliance. If an exception report is received due to swapped shifts, the swaps will be disregarded and revert back to the contractual duties. This will not apply if the Trust requests the swap.
If you are unable to take your breaks, start early or late or finish early or late, we would encourage you to exception report so that we can address any issues within your rota.
Further information on the 2016 Contract and Exception Reporting is available on the Junior Doctors Information pages on the Trust intranet.
Staffing Solutions
RUH Staffing Solutions is the Royal United Hospitals in-house agency for all temporary staff working throughout the Trust.
We automatically enrol new joiners onto our locum bank. If you do not wish to join please contact Staffing Solutions or you can opt out when completing your new starter paperwork.
If you already work for the Trust and wish to register to join our temporary bank of staff then you need to come to the Staffing Solutions office in person to collect the relevant documents. We will then be able to advise you of any additional checks that you might need to complete prior to undertaking any bank work.
The Staffing Solutions Office is situated in the RUH South corridor at C11 near the Lansdown restaurant.
