Time limit for add on = 2 days

Human serum or EDTA, heparin or citrate plasma. When using heparin plasma as sample material the MPO antigen band may occasionally show an unspecific, very weak reaction.

Interfering substances = Haemolytic, lipaemic and icteric sera up to a concentration of 5 mg/ml for haemoglobin, of 20 mg/ml for triglycerides and of 0.4 mg/ml bilirubin showed no effect on the analytical results of the present EUROLINE.

Clinical Application
MPO performed after positive ANCA screen.

Associated with organ-limited small vessel necrotising and crescentic glomerulonephritis. MPO is the major antigen giving rise to the p-ANCA fluorescence pattern.
