Clinical Application
The adrenolytic agent Mitotane (o,p'-DDD) has been in use since 1960 and is licensed for use in the treatment of inoperable adrenocortical carcinoma. Its cytostatic effect appears to depend on the maintenance of adequate plasma levels, and encouraging results have been achieved when drug dosing has been based on pharmacological monitoring.
