Nathan is the Lead Pharmacist for Thrombosis and Anticoagulation at the RUH, Bath. Nathan graduated as a pharmacist from Cardiff University in 2012. He completed his Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy at Cardiff University in 2015 and qualified as an Independent Prescriber from the University of the West of England in 2018. Nathan took part in the "Don't wait to anticoagulate" project whilst working as a CCG Pharmacist in Bristol. This project aimed to optimise anticoagulation therapy for patients with atrial fibrillation and ignited his interest in anticoagulation and thrombosis.
Since being in post at the RUH Nathan has helped set up an award-winning cancer associated thrombosis service and works alongside the Haematology Team as part of a multi-disciplinary Thrombosis Clinic. Nathan works closely with both primary and secondary care to develop guidelines, anticoagulation pathways and optimise anticoagulation therapy for patients. He has presented at a number of regional and national events, working with organisations such as Thrombosis UK.
Nathan carries out teaching for staff in both primary and secondary care as well as undergraduate/postgraduate education for pharmacy students at the University of Bath.
