24-Hour Blood Pressure

Who

A 24-hour blood pressure record is sometimes useful in diagnosis or drug management.

Patients must be able to travel to the hospital to have the recorder fitted. The equipment must be returned on the last day of recording, not necessarily by the patient.

What

The recording device is fitted by a Cardiac Physiologist and the result is reviewed by the Consultant Cardiologist. A management plan is suggested.

Where

Cardiac Centre B59, 3rd Floor Central, Royal United Hospital, Bath

Preparation

Patients will need to wear a top that will fit over the top of a normal blood pressure cuff.
