Breast Abscess Pathway
Following the recent GIRFT Report breast sepsis was flagged as an area requiring improvement at the RUH. As a result we have introduced Trust-wide breast sepsis pathway.
There is now a step-by-step flow chart explaining the referral pathway for these patients both in and out of hours. The referral pathway provides a direct Breast Abscess Hotline telephone number to improve access during normal working hours and requires a completed referral on Millennium. The referral pathway is aimed at both GP and community health care providers as well other hospital departments.
