Point of Care Testing
Managing POCT
The testing of blood, urine & faeces near to, or at the site of a patient is an expanding area of activity with benefits to the patient and clinician in terms of speed and responsiveness. There are challenges, including maintaining test result accuracy, staff training and competency, quality assurance and cost.
The RUH Medical Committee is responsible for POCT in the Trust.
