Sterile Procedure Packs
Raw materials are purchased and the packs assembled with the re-usable instruments which are purchased by the customers department. The finished packs are then sterilised in autoclaves. The packing and sterilisation process is closely monitored to ensure a high quality sterile pack meeting the users' requirements.
The pack contents are standardised and regularly reviewed to ensure suitability and quality. Once autoclaved, packs are stored within the department with strict stock rotation, and issued either by agreed 'top up' or on request from users in various locations within the Trust area. More than 265,000 packs per year are produced within the Sterile Services Department.
