RUH New Staff
Your first day
We're really happy that you're joining us. To help you settle in on your first day you'll be invited to our Welcome to the RUH induction day which takes place in the Education Centre (E7).
Here you will find out more about life at the RUH and what matters most to us as an organisation, including our shared values, vision and goals. You will also receive lots of useful information to help settle you into the RUH and is a great opportunity to meet other new starters too.
What to bring on your first day:
- Notepad and pen
- Reusable water bottle
- Lunch if not planning to visit our restaurant or cafes

ID Badges
You will receive your ID badge at the Welcome to the RUH induction day.
Smartcard
Smartcards are issued to staff who need it for their role for specific tasks on some IT systems. Your manager will let the Recruitment department know if you need one and you will be able to collect your Smartcard at the Welcome to the RUH induction day.
NHS Mail
You will be given your IT systems log-in and NHS email details on your first day at the Welcome to the RUH induction day.
If you are leaving an NHS Trust and already have an NHS email address we can transfer it to the RUH so it's ready for when you join us. To enable the transferring of your email address please let the Trust you are leaving know that you are a leaver so the transfer can be made.
