Join our virtual event in June to hear the latest updates on the Dyson Cancer Centre at the RUH
The Royal United Hospitals (RUH) Bath NHS Foundation Trust is hosting a virtual event this summer to share an update on construction of the Dyson Cancer Centre and answer any questions people may have about the new centre.
Those attending the session on Tuesday 13 June at 3.30pm will be able to hear from clinicians who will be moving to the new centre as well as Macmillan Cancer Support, the team managing the project, construction partner Kier and the RUH's Art at the Heart team.
The new centre is scheduled to open at the end of 2023. Once complete, it will provide a home for the majority of the RUH's cancer services, including oncology, chemotherapy and radiotherapy services and research teams, as well as a 22-bed inpatient ward.

Every effort has been made to design the best possible environment in conjunction with the highest quality equipment. Whether it's the bright and welcoming atrium, the spacious chemotherapy suite or the sensitively designed inpatient ward we've listened to those who use or work in these services to make sure the Dyson Cancer Centre can continue to support high quality cancer care for our community.
"But equally important are the skilled and dedicated staff who will be caring for patients in the new centre. Our teams are busy preparing for their new environment and new ways of working and we're so excited to be at this point, just a few months away from welcoming patients and their loved ones into this wonderful new facility."

The Macmillan Wellbeing Hub will be a significant feature of the new centre. This will be a nonclinical, calming space where patients, families and carers can receive practical and emotional support. Tracy Langton, Macmillan Cancer Information and Personalised Care and Support Clinical Nurse Specialist, will be on hand to outline what the hub will provide and answer any questions.
The new centre has been specially designed to provide a nurturing and therapeutic environment so interior design, the use of natural light, artworks and art installations all have an important role to play. The RUH's Art at the Heart Art and Design Manager Hetty Dupays will be sharing an update on some of the interior design work and specially commissioned art that will feature in the Dyson Cancer Centre.
