News

We are seeing an increase in flu and other respiratory illnesses in our community, with many requiring hospital care.

To help reduce the spread of infection and keep everyone safe, we are asking all staff, patients and visitors to wear a face mask or covering in the busier areas of our hospital where we see unplanned arrivals, if they are able to do so. These are:

  • The Emergency Department (children’s and adults’ areas)
  • Medical Assessment Areas
  • Surgical Assessment Areas

Face masks will be provided at the entrances to the hospital, so you can wear them wherever you would like to do so. We also encourage regular hand washing with warm water and soap, or using hand sanitiser, to help prevent the spread of viruses.

Visiting

If you have a loved one in hospital, please stay home if you have any signs of a respiratory illness.

If you experience diarrhoea or vomiting, please do not visit until 48 hours after your symptoms have gone.

If you would like help keeping in touch from home, please contact our Family Liaison Facilitators.
