Cardiology
Research aims
The Cardiology department supports a wide range of research studies into various forms of heart disease. This includes experimental drug trials looking to find new medications to help our patients live longer and more fulfilling lives, or testing newer and better ways to investigate for heart disease. We work closely with our colleagues in the Research & Development and Radiology departments to deliver this research.
More recently, we are now working closely with our colleagues at the University of Bath to lead research into a novel lifestyle intervention – "Super Rehab" – which is not only looking to reduce the burden of illness on our patients, but also investigate whether this approach can reverse different forms of heart disease.
