Research Aims

The vaccine team was set up during the pandemic to recruit and run COVID vaccine research. At the time, no vaccine for coronavirus (COVID-19) existed. We have run several COVID vaccine studies since then, and many vaccines are now available for use.

We are aware how much vaccines have done over the years. They improve and save millions of lives around the world. The COVID pandemic brought this into sharper focus. There is evidence that vaccines reduced death and serious illness from COVID-19.

COVID vaccines are still part of our role, but we are now extending into other vaccine research. This includes illnesses such as influenza.
