Endocrine Surgery

Adrenal Surgery

Adrenal gland tumours are either benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). They are very rare and can often be removed with surgery under general anaesthetic.

If tumours are small and operable, keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery is used.

In some cases it may be necessary to remove one or both adrenal glands. This is called an adrenalectomy. The adrenal glands are reached through an incision in either the abdomen or back.
