Council of Governors
Staff Governor Role
Our Council of Governors is made up of 21 elected and appointed Governors. They include Public Governors, Staff Governors and Stakeholder Governors.
The role of the Staff Governors is to represent the views of staff members and ensure that any comments are fed back to the Board of Directors. Governors do not undertake operational management of the Trust; rather they collectively hold the Board of Directors to account for the Trust's performance and advise on its future development.
You can find out more information about the role of a Staff Governor here.
As part of their role, the Staff Governors have been attending departmental meetings throughout the hospital since February and have found this to be a very successful way to engage with staff members, introduce themselves and give the opportunity for staff to ask questions if necessary.
