Specialist Nursing Team
Janet BallLead Clinical Nurse SpecialistJan qualified as a nurse in 1995 at University College London. She has a Master's degree in Nursing and Health Science and an MPhil in the person centred care of hospital patients. She is a Non-Medical Prescriber. She took over the management of the nursing team in 2020. She looks after people with all Rheumatological conditions but mainly Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis and Ankylosing Spondylitis. She also is the Nurse Specialist for the Young Adult Clinics. |

Debbie BondClinical Nurse Specialist (Biologics Lead)Debbie is a clinical nurse specialist at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases (RNHRD). She completed her nurse training in 1981 and has since completed a degree in public sector studies, her MsC in advanced practice and non-medical prescriber course. Debbie has worked in rheumatology since 2004 and at the RNHRD since 2010. She runs clinics for patients who are being considered for biologics or who are already on treatment. She is the lead nurse for the biologics service at the RNHRD. Debbie teaches about medications on the AS (axial spondyloarthritis) course. She is also a member of the NASS Aspiring to excellence steering committee who are helping hospitals to improve their AS services She is a member of the Royal College of Nursing and the British Society of Rheumatology. When not at work Debbie enjoys gardening; crafts including card making and cross stitch and walking her dogs. |

Sarah SmithClinical Nurse SpecialistSarah is a Clinical Nurse Specialist at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases (RNHRD) and specialises in connective tissue diseases (CTD), which include Vasculitis, Lupus, Systemic sclerosis, Myositis and Sjogrens syndrome. She completed her training at The Royal Free Hospital and worked as a sister on the Rheumatology & Acute General Medical Ward and the Rheumatology outpatients department prior to her post at the RNHRD. Sarah worked as a Clinical Research nurse at the RNHRD for a number of years, coordinating both commercial trials and academic studies. She currently runs CTD clinics, advises, educates and provides support for patients'. She is a member of the Royal College of Nursing and the British Society for Rheumatology. Sarah loves the outdoors, whether that's glamping, gardening, picnics, golfing or walking the dog. Above all she enjoys spending time with family and friends. |

Rachel MacmillanClinical Nurse SpecialistRachel is a Nurse Specialist at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases and runs clinics for patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis. She has had experience of working in medical admissions, respiratory and Chronic Pain. Rachel has a BSc Honours Degree in Psychology and Health Science and is a non-medical prescriber. |

Niki FulstowClinical Nurse SpecialistNiki Fulstow is a Clinical Nurse Specialist at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases (RNHRD). She completed a BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing at the University of the West of England, following a career in the army. Niki was a member of the RNHRD research team for a number of years, coordinating both commercial and academic studies. She currently works with the specialist nursing team, and runs clinics in early inflammatory arthritis, axial spondyloarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. She is a member of the Royal College of Nursing. Niki is a keen runner, cyclist and cold water swimmer, enjoying competition as well as the social aspects of sports. |

Jaliah NorcottAssociate Clinical Nurse SpecialistJaliah is a CTD Nurse specialist with an interest in Lupus. She reviews patients with vasculitis, scleroderma, myositis and primary Raynaud's syndrome and also covers the inflammatory arthritis clinic. She runs monthly Lupus annual review clinics alongside leading Lupus consultants. I am part of the quarterly joint obstetrics and rheumatology team. This involves pre-pregnancy counselling and disease monitoring during and after pregnancy. I have two Burmese cats (Aria and Theo) with big personalities. Foraging for wild garlic in the spring was one lockdown discovery - great with baked salmon and makes great Pesto. I also forage for Samphire – sea asparagus along the North Devon coast (following strict conservation guidelines). |

Michelle ReservaAssociate Clinical Nurse SpecialistMichelle is an associate clinical nurse specialist. She qualified in the year of 2016 and mainly worked on medical wards and in the community as a nursing home nurse. Michelle is looking into progressing in her nursing career. She feels lucky and excited to be part of the Rheumatology team where she can be supported by the senior CNS and the rest of the team and learning the speciality in the hope of providing the best and quality care to patients. Michelle is eager in working towards becoming a specialist nurse with a non-medical prescribing qualification. Michelle's career aspiration is to be a nurse practitioner. Michelle likes to spend her time outside of work in the outdoors and keeping active; specifically taking her dog for walks and going to the gym. She values spending quality time with her family and friends. She has also found a new love for bouldering and enjoys indoor climbing on her days off. |

Deb WeeksLead Biologics AdministratorDeb has worked at the RNHRD for over 17 years. She has a diploma in Business Management and looks after all of the Rheumatology Nursing team's administration. She is also responsible for organising the Patient Advice Line and oversees the Biologics prescribing. |

Andrea MossmanClinical Nurse Specialist Team AdministratorAndrea feels privileged to work alongside the small team of dedicated and hardworking Rheumatology Specialist Nurses, providing various administrative support services. It's been almost 6 years and she still loves it. |
