Overview
Overview
Uro-gynaecology is a service that combines bladder (urology) with vaginal and uterine surgery (gynaecological). It is a specialist service for women with prolapse or incontinence.
We offer investigation and treatment to women with bladder problems, vaginal prolapse and bowel control problems. Although the majority of our patients come from the Bath area, we will see women from anywhere in the UK.
Conditions
We see women with a range of different conditions including:
- Stress urinary incontinence
- Urge urinary incontinence
- Overactive bladder
- Difficult bladder emptying
- Recurrent urinary tract infections
- Haematuria
- Bladder pain
- Vesico-vaginal fistula
- Vaginal prolapse
- Anal incontinence
- Difficult rectal emptying
- Recto-vaginal fistula

We provide a wide variety of services to assess and investigate patients' symptoms including:
- Consultant led clinics to assess prolapse and incontinence.
- Urodynamic Studies
- Anorectal physiology studies and endoanal ultrasound
- Voiding Studies
- Perineal ultrasound
- Ambulatory Urodynamics
- Perineal Trauma Clinic
- Pelvic Floor Clinic
- Out-patient Cystoscopy

- Surgical treatment of urinary incontinence and vaginal prolapse, including 'keyhole' surgery
- Vaginal pessary fitting

To be seen in this department you must be referred by your GP, Community Continence Nurse Specialist, or another consultant. We are unable to accept self referrals.
