Films for children

Coming into hospital for surgery is often a daunting prospect.

To help alleviate some of this stress, we have produced two films to guide children and parents through the process.

Parents can visit at any time. Other visitors must be accompanied by a parent

The Care Team

The Children's Ward has been split into three sections, in accordance to age. Each section has it's own team of nurses. The doctors undertake a daily ward round.

Meal times

There is a choice of menus and we also cater for special dietary needs. Meal times are approximately as follows:

  • Breakfast 8am - 9am
  • Lunch 12 noon
  • Supper 4:30pm - 5:00pm

Breastfeeding Mums

All breastfeeding mothers will be offered meals at meal times. Drinks and snacks are available at all times.

The preparing to go to hospital page has important information about what to bring when your child is admitted to hospital.

To help keep your child happy and safe we encourage you to bring their favourite game, toy and music with you. Please ensure that they have sufficient toiletries, along with day and night clothes.
