About us

Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a 16-bed ward within the hospital. Every year, we treat over 1000 patients, with a wide variety of medical and surgical conditions.

The unit is run jointly by an experienced group of specialist doctors and nurses, supported by allied health professionals, technicians and support staff. We have a focus on delivering the safest and most effective care possible, for our patients and their loved ones.

In 2025 we opened our new state of the art ICU, which features the latest equipment, and an environment designed to promote comfort and dignity. We are also pleased to offer much improved facilities for patients, staff and visitors.

The ICU Team

In the ICU, patient care is delivered by a highly specialised and varied group of clinical staff, who bring their different skills and experience to work together in a cohesive team. The department is led by senior doctors and nurses, supported by staff in several other roles.
