About the Dyson Centre
The £6.1 million Dyson Neonatal Care Unit opened on 23 July 2011 and is an environmentally sustainable design, which is the first of its type in Europe. It is designed to provide a beneficial healing environment for babies and reduce stress levels experienced by their parents.
The RUHX 'Space to Grow' campaign raised £3.1 million towards the building, including a £500,000 donation from Sir James Dyson’s charitable foundation, with the remaining funds coming from the hospital’s budget.
Bath architects Fielden Clegg Bradley designed the building which has transformed neonatal intensive care facilities at the hospital.
