Meet the team
Dr Tehseen Ahmed, MBChB, MRCP (UK)Consultant RheumatologistDr Tehseen Ahmed is a consultant in rheumatology and has a special interest in osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease. Dr Ahmed undertook his medical training in Birmingham and completed his Rheumatology training in the Severn region. He is a member of the British Society for Rheumatology, the National Osteoporosis Society, and the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research. He has an interest in medical education and leads Rheumatology teaching for medical students from the University of Bristol. He currently runs general rheumatology, osteoporosis, and joint/soft tissue injection clinics. |

Dr Sarah Hardcastle MBChB, BSc, PhD, FRCPConsultant RheumatologistDr Hardcastle was appointed as a Consultant Rheumatologist at the RNHRD in July 2018, having previously trained in the area. As well as general rheumatology, she has a specialist interest in osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease and undertakes weekly osteoporosis clinics and monthly specialist metabolic bone disease clinics. She also coordinates monthly Southern region rare bone disease multidisciplinary team meeting where complex cases are discussed. Dr Hardcastle also maintains an active interest in bone disease research, having previously completed a PhD examining the relationship between osteoarthritis and high bone density. She is local principle investigator for a number of research studies, and is keen to offer patients the opportunity to participate in research. She is a member of the Royal College of Physicians, British Society for Rheumatology, Royal Osteoporosis society and American Society for Bone and Mineral Research. |

Terrie StockerOsteoporosis Specialist NurseTerrie has been working as an osteoporosis nurse with the osteoporosis team since April 2023, having previously worked in the same role at the Bristol Royal Infirmary and as one of the Royal Osteoporosis Society Helpline Nurses. She is also the nurse coordinator for the Falls and Fracture Liaison Service. |

Dr Jackie Shipley, MA, MSc, PhD, CSci, FIPEMClinical ScientistJackie Shipley is a Clinical Scientist with particular expertise in ultrasound and DXA. Her training included a PhD in the field of medical image analysis. She has been working with the DXA service since 2006. She is currently a member of the ROS bone densitometry training and advisory panel, and is a guest lecturer on clinical ultrasound for Bath University. |

Susie WarrenFalls and Fracture Liaison Service AdministratorSusie Warren joined the team in 2019 as the Falls and Fracture Liaision Service administrator. This role involves identifying patients who have had a low-trauma fracture so that bone protection treatment can be commenced where appropriate, and also checking whether patients are adhering to their bone treatment correctly. She is responsible for inputting data from the RNHRD service into the UK-wide Fracture liaison service database (FLS-DB), which aims to ensure that national standards are met and that the best possible care is provided to patients with osteoporosis. Prior to this, she worked in the NHS in an administrative capacity for many years. |
