Getting here by bus
We encourage patients, visitors and staff to use public transport and alternative means of travel.
There are numerous bus and rail links into Bath city centre, 1.5 miles from the RUH. There are Park & Ride buses from Odd Down in the south, and buses from the west that stop at the Newbridge Park & Ride, a short walk from the RUH. More buses drop off at the hospital or within walking distance.
Bath Bus Station – RUH (Direct)
First Bus Services- Service 3: runs between Bathford and Weston via the city centre, stopping at the RUH.
- Service 4: runs between Odd Down and Weston via the city centre, stopping at the RUH.
- Service 20: runs hourly between Twerton, Weston, City Centre, and the University of Bath, stopping at the RUH.
Additional Services

Service 19 stops on the A431 at Pen Lea Road (eastbound) and Evelyn Road (westbound). These stops are a 2 minute walk from the RUH site.
From Bristol
- Service 39/x39: from Bristol this service takes 35 minutes and stops on Newbridge Road, a 10 minute walk from the RUH site.

Service 4 provides a service between Odd Down Park & Ride and the RUH.
Getting here by Rail
- Oldfield Park is our closest station, a 25 minute walk to RUH. A train from Bristol Temple Meads takes just 15 minutes. A train from Trowbridge to Oldfield Park takes 25 mins.
- Bath Spa is a 15 minute bus journey (number 4) away from RUH. A train from Chippenham to Bath Spa takes around 15 mins.
