Urological Cancer

Patients who have been newly diagnosed with a urological cancer are usually seen in one of our joint oncology clinics.

In these clinics you will have the opportunity to be seen by and discuss your treatment with a Consultant Urologist, Consultant Oncologist (medical cancer specialist) and a Macmillan Nurse Specialist.  We also have a clinical trials nurse available to discuss any appropriate clinical trials that you may wish to become involved with.

Because the amount of time each patient requires varies in this clinic we would ask you to be patient when waiting and plan that you will spend longer in the department than for a normal outpatient appointment.

The first time you come to one of these clinics we would ask that you attend with a comfortably full bladder as we may need a urine sample or a urine flow study prior to you seeing the doctor.
