Bowel cancer screening aims to detect bowel cancer at an early stage, in people with no symptoms, when treatment is more likely to be effective.

Bowel cancer symptoms

Bowel screening is offered to people aged 54-74 years-old across Bath, Swindon and Wiltshire to help find bowel cancer early, when it can often be cured.

The Bowel Cancer Screening Programme provides Bowel Cancer Screening Services for around 155,000 people in Bath, Swindon and Wiltshire.

The Bath, Swindon and Wiltshire Bowel Screening Programme currently offers screening every two years to men and women aged 54-74, with plans to include 52 and 50 year olds by April 2025.

People over 74 can request a screening kit by calling the freephone helpline 0800 707 6060.
