Physiotherapy

Our Physiotherapists specialise in improving your activity levels and function before, during and after treatment. Studies have shown that improved activity can reduce side effects of treatment, your risk of complications, the length of stay in hospital and aid faster recovery.

It is important to stay active from your diagnosis onwards to keep your lungs and heart strong. We offer a range of classes to provide a gentle introduction to physical activity or more intensive exercise with weights and resistance bands.

Exercise has been shown to have many beneficial effects including:

  • Boosting energy levels
  • Improving mood
  • Reducing treatment related side effects
  • Improving sleep
  • Maintaining mental health
  • Improving self-image and confidence
  • Maintaining good general health

Below is an image showing the Government's guidelines showing how much activity we should all be doing each week. Our aim is to support you to maintain or increase your current activity levels to move towards these guidelines, whilst being cautious of the effects that treatment can have on you and modifying your activity accordingly. We provide 1:1 advice to help create a personalised exercise plan.
