Complex Epilepsy

For 70% of children with epilepsy, we are able to successfully control their seizures with medication.

If your child's seizures prove hard to control after trying 2 epilepsy medications, a referral to Bristol for evaluation under the epilepsy surgery team will be considered.

About the Children's Epilepsy Surgery Service (CESS) in Bristol

Another option could be the ketogenic diet. This diet needs to be supervised by a specialist dietician. Matthew's friends website has more information about the diet if it is something you would like to consider.
