How to cancel or rearrange your appointment

If you have received a letter on North Bristol Trust headed paper this is for a vascular consultant appointment. We do not control the booking of vascular consultant appointments here at the RUH.

In order to rearrange or cancel this appointment, please contact the vascular network team at Southmead hospital on 0117 414 0798 or via Southmead hospital switchboard on 0117 950 5050.

What to expect at your appointment

Illustration of a male member of staff When you arrive for your appointment please check in at our Reception desk in B56 . One of our administrative team will ask if you have an appointment letter and will direct you to take a seat in the waiting room.

At your appointment time, one of our nursing team will call you from the waiting room and escort you into one of our clinic or treatment rooms to see the Consultant or Clinical Nurse Specialist.

You may be asked to undress or remove your shoes and socks dependent on the nature of your condition, for the medical team to examine you as part of the consultation.

If required our nurses may remove any dressings or bandaging you have, however these will be redressed before you finish your appointment.

Most appointments can take up to 20 minutes, however please leave at least an hour, as the Consultant may recommend you require an ultrasound scan or additional test before leaving.

Here at Vascular Studies we run a number of different clinics and therefore you may see someone go in before you. Please report to the reception desk if you have not been seen within 30 minutes of your appointment time.
