Here at the RUH we are committed to helping our colleagues get to work as simply and sustainably as possible.

Walk / Cycle

At the RUH we want to support your health and wellbeing. Walking, running & cycling to work can save you money, keep you healthy and reduce your impact on the environment.

Get here:		There are plenty of excellent cycle routes serving the site! In particular, the two major routes: The Bristol to Bath Railway Path (4) from the west and the Two Tunnels Greenway (24) from the south..
Onsite:		We have locked cycle storage as well as changing, shower and locker facilities for you to freshen up. These facilities can be accessed with your generic access swipe card.
Cyclescheme:		Looking to buy a bike? Why not take advantage of Cyclescheme, this salary sacrifice scheme can help you to save 25-39% off a new bike over a 6 or 12 months period.
E-Bike Loan:		Staff are able to loan an ebike, free of charge, for up to 1 month.
Park & Stride:		If you need to drive to work we have an agreement with the council allowing colleagues to park for £2 a day. You can then enjoy a 12–18 minute walk from Newbridge Park & Ride to the RUH.

Public Transport

By train:

Oldfield Park is our closest station, a 25min walk to RUH. A train from Bristol Temple Meads takes just 15 minutes. A train from Trowbridge to Oldfield Park takes 25 mins.

Bath Spa is a 15 minute bus journey (number 4) away from RUH. A train from Chippenham to Bath Spa takes around 15 mins.

By bus:

Cribbs Causeway / South Gloucestershire / East Bristol		19 – Newbridge Hill, a short walk from the main hospital site

Bristol City Centre		X39 – 500m walk to site

Wiltshire		X76, X84, X85, X88 – serving the hospital site

Within Bath		4, 4a, 4b, 20a, 20c – in and around the site

Car Share

The Trust has introduced a journey sharing platform, allowing staff to find RUH colleagues to share a car, cycling or walking journey to and from work with. Sharing your Journey has many benefits:

Reduced costs associated with traveling alone (Fuel and Parking Permit)
Improved sustainability of your journey
Improved Health and Wellbeing

Once you join the Trust you will be able to sign up to our platform.

Business Pool Car

For business related journeys staff have access to the onsite Enterprise Car Club hybrid Car. For any further information contact the Sustainability Team by email
