Patient Experience Matters
NHS Patient Surveys
The NHS Patient Survey Programme gathers the views of patients about the care they have recently received. It enables us to compare our patients' experiences and compare:
- performance of different hospitals
- changes over time
- variations between different patient groups
Patients are asked questions about what happened to them during their recent healthcare experience. These questions highlight where the problems are and what needs to be done to improve care. Once the results are received we make use of the findings in order to improve our services locally.
National surveys include:
- Adult Inpatient Survey
- Urgent and Emergency Care Survey
- Children and Young People's Survey
- Maternity Survey
