Since April 2010, it has been a legal requirement for all healthcare providers to be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and comply with the essential standards of quality and safety and their associated outcomes. Outcome 7 of the essential standards sets out the requirements for Trusts in safeguarding children and adults from abuse.
