Preparing for your appointment
You may need an x-ray or blood test taken on the day of your appointment. Your wounds (if any) may be looked at and dressed by doctors and nurses. Patients who sustain soft tissue injury or broken bones may be required to wear splints or have a plaster applied on limbs for a period of time.
Every effort is made to see you on time but because you may need necessary examinations, treatments or investigations, and many patients may need to be seen more than once, you could be in the department for 2-3 hours.
Please bring current medications/insulin with you.
