About the Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism Department
The staff in this department offer care and advice to patients with Diabetes, Diabetes related illnesses, or who may have a particular glandular or metabolic problem.

Reception will be open from 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
An answer phone will be in use out-of-hours, weekends and bank holidays.

The Team
The department team consists of Consultants, Registrars, Associate Specialists, Diabetes Specialist Nurse, Diabetes Liaison Nurse, Dietitians, Podiatrists, Retinal Screening Technicians, Clinic Nurses, Secretaries to the Consultants, Research Nurses and Receptionists.
You may be required to prepare for your appointment
Having a blood test prior to, or on the day of your appointment. An eye test, blood pressure recording, measurement of height and weight, or an examination of your feet.
Facilities
Hot and cold drinks machines are situated in the patients' waiting area. Please note the machine does not accept 50p coins. Information leaflets and magazines are available. Toilets/Assisted toilets are available.
Location
From the main entrance, come through doors behind the atrium coffee bar and turn right. Follow the corridor around to the right and left and up to a T-junction. Turn right and follow this route until you come to another corridor on your left. The Endocrinology & Diabetes department is a short way along, on the right-hand side.
Travel arrangements
Hospital transport is limited and reserved ONLY for those who have no other means. Therefore, we ask you to make your own arrangements wherever possible.
