Paediatrics

The Paediatric dietitians work closely with other paediatric health professionals to provide an inpatient service to the Childrens’ Ward and NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit).

They are a part of a multi-disciplinary outpatient service for children with food allergies, Cystic Fibrosis and Diabetes. Clinics are provided at the hospital for children with a wide variety of conditions referred by their Paediatrician; and clinics are also held at Chippenham Hospital for children living in Wiltshire.

Paediatric Diabetes

We also have a Paediatric diabetes service and dietitians work exclusively within the paediatric diabetes service and work closely with the specialist paediatric diabetes nurses and paediatricians to support children with their new diagnosis and ongoing management of their condition. Children may be seen on the ward and in clinics in the community and organise a variety of educational sessions to help support children and their families to manage their long term condition.

Community Paediatrics

We provide a service for children in the community. Children who are registered with a GP in Bath and North East Somerset will be seen in clinic or receive advice by telephone or video. Families will be visited at home if appropriate. Please refer to community section for further information.
